Is the US Dollar about to Crash?
By: Daniel Chubb | July 17, 2007 | Leave a CommentWith the recent somewhat rapid decline in the value of the US Dollar, there has been some speculation that the currency may be about to collapse.
Analysts say that the USD is nearing the 80 level on its index and if is falls through this key technical support level, it could be on course for a dramatic spiral downwards.
Currently, the US Dollar is around half a point from this level, and previously it has recovered from these depths.
However some believe that the shaky foundations that back up the greenback cannot hold up forever, especially with US trade deficit growing and at alarming rate. Commodities that hold their value, such as gold, have been going on a terrific run upwards recently, due mainly to the fall in the USD.
