Soaring Price of Uranium
With the prices of uranium soaring French energy giant Areva knows they need to find more sources for uranium and they thought it was their lucky day when they found 14,000 tonnes of uranium near the Kakadu National Park.

The land is owned by the sole member of the Djok clan and the senior custodian of the Koongarra uranium deposit (JEFFREY LEE), his father and grandfather were offered houses, cars and many other things for the land (they were not told about the uranium), although the 14,000 tonnes are worth more than $5 billion Mr. Lee is not interested.

Jeffrey Lee controls the fate of Koongarra and said “This is my country. Look, its beautiful and I fear somebody will disturb it,” as he waved is arm across a view of rocky land that is surrounded by Kakadu National Park.

The 36-year-old Jeffrey Lee has decided never to allow the land to be mined and as money does not mean a thing to him that looks the way it’s going to be.

This is an interesting story. Gotta respect someone that turns down $5 Billion. Uranium is a hot commodity though, just take a look at its soaring price. I recommend this report to anyone with an interest in Uranium.
