Chinese Cell Phone The Loudest Ever
By: Daniel Chubb | July 15, 2007 | 2 CommentsA new cell phone from China is now the loudest ever produced with the ability to blare out songs, ringtones and other media flies at an incredible 120bB.
Of course, to many of you the figure of 120dB doesn’t mean much so let’s put it in perpective. How can I put it? Well here is a scale to demonstrate how loud various levels on the decibel scale are.
Threshold of Hearing (TOH)
0 dB
Rustling Leaves
10 dB
Whisper
20 dB
Normal Conversation
60 dB
Busy Street Traffic
70 dB
Vacuum Cleaner
80 dB
Large Orchestra
98 dB
Walkman at Maximum Level
100 dB
Front Rows of Rock Concert
110 dB
Threshold of Pain
130 dB
Military Jet Takeoff
140 dB
Instant Perforation of Eardrum
160 dB
So this cell phone its just below the threshold of pain…nice.
Armed with a design including five speakers and “dynamic 3D sound” this cell phone, the Qkphone 911 is one mean machine. Naturally it comes fully equipped with all the usual applications that you might find on say, a Windows Moblie Smartphone but it also includes a large number of media capabilities including a media player with a weird dancing girl on it…
