Zac Efron gets Footloose

Plans are in place by Paramount to remake the 1984 hit Kevin Bacon musical “Footloose” with “High School Musical” star Zac Efron playing the lead.
Kenny Ortega is in negotiations to helm and choreograph the movie and Efron is in talks to play Ren McCormack - the rebellious newcomer to a town where dancing has been banned.
The plan is to turn the project into a full-blown musical with Dyan Sellers producing.
