Dead Rising as one can imagine is a zombie killing game in which your character is Frank West a freelance photographer who is unfortunately trapped inside a shopping mall with other and face a horde of undead zombies. The departments within the shopping mall offer a wide and varied range of objects to use in fighting the zombies, including makeshift weapons, vehicles and a whole lot more. However Frank has only 72 hours to get as many photos as possible in aid to find out what has turned these people into zombies

Controlling Frank and his weapons is relatively simple; you will have the ability to glance down at Franks watch so you know when the next case file begins. You will receive updates of the current situation from Otis the Mall’s janitor by means of a transceiver, but beware Franks cannot attack when using it, if he’s in the midst of a fights the transceiver will hang up and you’ll have to wait for it to be repeated. Following Otis’s side missions will gain you valuable points that help Frank to level up, and progress deeper and deeper.

When Frank needs a breather from chopping heads and splitting sculls he has his trusty camera at hand, and this allows you to capture those fun moments within the game play. Frank can even change his apparel by entering one of the clothes stores.

One demeaning point of Dead Rising is the lack of save points which means you’ll probably be replaying some of the missions, and there’s no auto-save feature either; the save points are either toilet areas or couches.

Features:

  • Offline Player: 1
  • HDTV: 720p
  • Widescreen 16.9

Dead Rising overall is a good killing game full of possibilities making it re-playable. Not a game for everyone, but if you enjoy massacring zombies give it a go.
