PS3
Corporate director Masanao Maeda from Sega has said that Sony will really need to substantially cut the price of the PS3 and they need to do this by the end of the year to stimulate the low demand. That is what he said and many other people have said that, we all know that the Playstation 3 is at a ridiculous high price and if they want more sales then Sony will surely have to cut PS3 prices by the end of the year.

The Japanese publisher Enterbrain has said that the Wii from Nintendo outsold the PS3 by squashing the ratio of over 6 to 1 in June alone in Japan, the thing is Sony are not likely to cut prices for at least another 2 years, a spokeswoman for Sony Computer Entertainment America said. Will the Sony PS3 out sell other top named consoles like the Xbox 360 or the Nintendo Wii, very much doubt it is our answer unless Sony knock down the price.

Do you think Sony will cut the PS3 price?

There is no doubt that a price cut would increase sales but for EVERYONE to buy one you would need to halve the price at least. Let’s be realistic here, if you cut it by $100 then it might increase sales by a small margin. In order to increase that margin then Sony would have to cut the price further.

Question: Would you lose even more money if you owned a company and were already selling a system at a loss?

Over time the price will drop, no question, but I will give you the hot tip right now, Little Big Planet, remember this name, Little Big Planet. This is the game that will bring back the old motto “Sony the one and only”

I believe $onys P$3 ALREADY stimulates low demand, I think you meant to say they want to stimulate HIGHER demand. I think that would be a far better goal.
Now I understand why they can sell them…
