Sanyo’s 6,500 lumen LP-XP100L 3LCD projector

Sanyo were full of pride earlier this morning when they revealed their “World’s Brightest” projector. The 6,500 lumen LP-XP100L is the world’s brightest single-lamp, mid-sized projector weighing less than 12 kg. I’d have to admit it’s not the best looking thing in the world though.

The lamp enables a 1,024 x 768 pixel resolution display with a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Included inputs are component BNC and HDCP-enabled DVI. Sound good? Well it can be yours from August 1st in Japan for around $10,000.

To be honest, I wouldn’t want to spend that much money on something that ugly, but credit where credit is due it is one powerful projector!
