New York Rangers NHL star Todd Bertuzzi gave day 2 of the NHL free agent signing period. Some star quality that highlighted the first day of the great shopping season, Leaving Hockeytown and heading West to Tinseltown Bertuzzi agreed to the terms Monday night on a 2 year deal worth a whopping $8 million with the Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks. Todd Bertuzzi was and is the highest profile NHL player to switch teams on Monday and it featured so much activity on the first day of the free agency even if it lacked all the big names.
Another big name who is Michael Nylander left the New York Rangers who came of the board earlier in the day, when he stocked up on the position Sunday and came to terms on a $19.5 million contract 4 year deal with the Washington Capitals. The Capitals will really be pleased with their latest free agent signing.
