Toyota new Valvematic engine: 7-passenger Noah MPV and Voxy
July 2, 2007 | Filed under Autos, Minivans & MPV

These MPVs are one of the first applications that Toyota has made with its new Valvematic engine, the Voxy and Noah MPV.
Both are of a blocky design and have seats for 7 passengers, if they like this design in Japan then I would have to say they got a totally different taste to me as I love a much more rounded and streamlined design.

I will leave the discussion on the design to the commentary, but what’s more important is what is under the hood of these machines anyway.

What most people will be talking about is the 2.0L 3ZR-FAE inline four with Valvematic that can be fitted in the Noah or Voxy.
Key Features Include:
- 164 g/km of CO² emissions
- 33 mpg
- 144 lb-ft of torque 4,400 rpm
- 158 PS (155 HP) at 6,200 rpm
- 1,986cc DOHC I4

We should see the Valvematic technology in Toyota’s full range of engines by 2010, so what’s your take on this new engine.
