When Baz Luhrmann did his research for the set of his new movie “Australia”, never did he once think that his set location could be in the middle of a flood plane. But, sod’s law has meant that production has had to be stopped and relocated.

The Faraway Downs homestead set for the Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman lead epic period piece has been deluged with water. The damage is severe and the crew have had to move shooting to another part of the country, while the two stars, Nicole and Hugh have flown back to Sydney where they will be shooting some interior scenes.

The location manager had this to say about recent events,

“There will be a cost involved but we did have to shoot in Sydney, so we’ll go back there and regroup. “It’s like rain in the Sahara, it’s as unexpected as that… We looked at the records which have existed since 1889 and there has never been anything like this in June.”
