At just 17, Daniel Radcliffe has been immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds today. The model of the Harry Potter star was revealed at the famous central London tourist attraction this morning with his fans gathering outside in anticipation.

Apparently, Daniel Radcliffe was far too busy to sit for sculptors when the figure was made and he has yet to see it himself! The model of Daniel is a far cry from the little Harry Potter we first saw and sees Daniel with a little stubble and in a suave suit.

One of the sculptors who created the waxwork said, “We had a lot of research from photos and film footage. Most times, celebrities will sit, but in this case, it did not happen.”

Radcliffe’s waxwork will be rubbing shoulders with Hollywood legends such as Samuel L. Jackson and Brad Pitt.Ben Lovett, of Madame Tussauds, said:
“Daniel had been asked for several years, but with his 18th birthday coming up, we thought it would be appropriate. Hopefully, the figure will be a big hit with teenage girls.”

So why didn’t they give Daniel his Harry Potter glasses and the famous scar? Ben answered, “Daniel is nearly 18 and he has some serious acting roles under his belt and we wanted to reflect that. For the last couple of years, people have been asking for a Daniel Radcliffe figure and they said we should include him as a British star in his own right.”

The Waxwork comes just in time for the release of Harry Potter and the Order of The Pheonix on July 13th.

What do you think? Is it about time Daniel Radcliffe was immortalized in wax? Let us know.

I do very much so beleive it is about time! This is Daniel Radcliffe being immortalized thank God, and not Harry Potter. As much as I love the books and the films, he is an actor in his own right (an awesome one), and for them to put him in character (a fictional character I hasten to add), would be ridiculous to me. I am very happy that they are aware that his fans (of which I am proudly one of them), wanted him shown. He is a British actor in his own right, and again I say it would be absolutely untolerable for them to do Potter. That would be immortalizing the fictional character, and not the young man who plays him.

I completely agree with eveything Adaora as a Daniel Radcliffe, and Harry Potter fan.
