The story of Japan getting the Honda Civic Mugen RR has gone from rumor to now fact; on the 13th of September 2007 Japanese car enthusiasts will be able to order what’s claimed to be the hottest Civic Type R yet.

The R was already very impressive, but now has had the once over from Mugen which has resulted in the Honda Civic Mugen RR (which as you can see from the photos, looks a hot sports car).

The Honda Civic Mugen RR has been designed to be the ultimate front-engine/front-wheel-drive performance car, rated at 240 horses at 8,000 rpm and 160 lb-ft at 7,000 rpm with an increase of 15hp over the regular Type R.

It also looks like the Honda Civic Mugen RR has gone on a diet with a weight loss of 10kg (22 lbs) off the standard Civic Type R, other changes are the logo-emblazoned Recaro sport buckets, new wheels and tires, a retuned suspension, upgraded brakes all around and a new bodykit.
The car is limited to 300 being made and with a cost of ¥4,777,500 ($38,750 USD).
