When it comes to the Apple iPhone there have been loads of rumors, one such rumor is that on Monday we will get a release date for a 3G iPhone in Europe. But the source is Guy Kewney of Newswireless, not only that he is also eWeek.com’s European wireless editor, so what he says is pretty much gospel.
The story that is going around is that Apple are about to announce a four-way deal, both T-Mobile and Vodafone will have the carrier front covered, while The Carphone Warehouse will be the MVNO. Just this alone will help the sales of the Apple iPhone massively.
But the best news of all about the European release of the phone is the fact that it will support 3G. This is great news in two ways firstly the iPhone has had poor performance on the EDGE network, so 3G is certainly needed and the best part of this news is the fact that not even the Americans have 3G, they have to put up with the out of date 2G version.
