Russell Crowe is in talks to join Leonardo DiCaprio in Body of Lies, formally known as Penetration, based on the novel by David Ignatius. The movie is directed by Crowe’s favorite Ridley Scott who he’s worked with 4 times (5 if you count the planned Nottingham).
The movie is a modern-day thriller following CIA agent Roger Ferris (DiCaprio) as he attempts to catch a deadly Al Qaeda leader by planting evidence that his target it working with the US on a corpse of a CIA Spy. However, the plot becomes more complex and Ferris need the help of Ed Hoffman (Crowe), the manipulative CIA boss of the Jordan field office who could quite possibly have his own agenda.
The script was written by William Monahan who penned Kingdom of Heaven, though reports state that Crowe is waiting for a Polish by Steve Zaillian (American Gangster, All The Kings Men) before he signs on the dotted line. If Crowe decided to team up with Ridley again, this DiCaprio-Crowe double whammy is set to be fantastic.
