Dell 1720dn laser printer
By: John-Paul | June 28, 2007
Dell is best known for supplying computers, but now their reputation as printer dealers has become more and more renowned even though many of their printers are designed and made by Lexmark. One of their printers to break the ‘Lexmark mould’ is the 1720dn.
The 1720dn is a neat and compact boxy personal laser. The two-tone colour design will suit any home or business office. As with many printers, you get the conventional 250-sheet paper tray and the bottom with a single sheet feed slot above, The output tray is set into the printers top surface.

There is a control panel which consists of six LEDs which indicate power, ready, replace toner or drum, paper out and output tray full, paper jam and software error. This is a lot more indicators on the 1720dn than you’d find on most entry-level laser printers and therefore makes it harder to read than an LCD. There are two buttons to control continue and cancel and at the back of the printer there are data sockets for USB2.0, parallel and 10/100 Ethernet.
