This Canon PowerShot Tx1 is an off-shoot of the popular IXUC and ELPH range which tries to straddle the gap betwixt digital stills and digital video with an unusual vertical style, which makes it a little difficult to use.
The Canon PowerShot TX1 is a compact camera at the size of about a standard pack of playing cards (28mm x 89mm x 58mm) and weighs in at 221g.
The PowerShot TX1 has a 10x optical zoom lens; optical image stabilisation; 7.1megapixl CCD; face detection with the capability to record high definition.
The PowerShot TX1 has a DIGIC III with iSAPS technology image processor.

The PowerShot has been designed to use much like a pistol, but with the trigger (shutter release) on the top much like normal cameras. The TX1 can be a little awkward to get the hang of with the index finger ready to snap a picture your middle finger is in an awkward position just below the lens.
All in all, not the best digital camera to work with but should work out okay once you’ve mastered the awkward handling.
