Blue Dragon has won an award, or should I say the marketing team has. If you have been living on another planet this is an Xbox 360 RPG, which at the moment is out in Japan but is set to follow in North America this summer. The award was for their work Big Shadow interactive installation which was held in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
In the Blue Dragon marketing campaign we say shadows of participants movements, which were then projected on to a wall in the centre of the town. As each of the performers raised their arms over their heads, we got to see a giant dragon appear above their shadows. The marketing team which consisted of Creative director Koshi Uchiyama, by art director Naoki Ito and producer Yasuhisa Kudo, was awarded the Gold Lion award for outdoor advertising at the Cannes Advertising Awards. The team must be feeling very happy with themselves, as these is one of the most prestigious award shows in the world of advertising.
