7 inch LCD display for Nintendo Wii: not for Wiimote swinging action

With the Nintendo Wii being so popular many gamers are crying out for more accessories on their beloved gaming console.
This is another accessory in the form of a 7 inch LCD display add-on for your Nintendo Wii and that’s when I get stuck thinking why?
Ok I can see a few benefits for a small screen for your Wii, but surely this will not get a big uptake as most games on the Nintendo Wii are for swinging action with the Wiimote.
Nintendo Wii owners:
Tell me would you want one of these?
And if so Why and for what games?

Ever see the youTube video of a guy playing the Wii on a 1 inch tv screen? He managed quite well. I’m sure he’d love a 7 inch screen!
Well I have a 7 inch portable DVD player and once you start using it you forget that it is smaller….I sure this would be the same…. Plus you could play all of your VC games and my GameCube games….ANY PLACE! Come on it really has a cool design to it — can’t wait to get my hands on one in the USA!
i would love this for smash bros, end of story. If somebody could mod this so that it houses energy in a battery for real portability that would be godly. and super nerdy.
Come on, this is a great idea. As the last poster said, this is a gateway to any VC or Gamecube game you want to play, in a very portable format, not to mention some great Wii games.
Games that come to mind include: Excite Truck, anything Zelda, … need I say more?
I think it’s a pity that it doesn’t work with the motion-sensing remote, since it doesn’t seem like that would be too difficult to accomplish, however it wouldn’t be very useful on a small screen and in tight quarters.
HUH? The sensor bar doesn’t even require a display to “work”! I am very confused- so this is saying that because the display is small there is no possible way to, say, tape the sensor bar on it and have it work? Again- HUH? Unless the display emits infrared light to such a high degree that the wiimote would be ‘blinded” this article makes no sense and I can think of plenty of consumers who would like this while travelling.
Though Nintendo already makes a fantastic portable called the “DS” I can think of more reasons for this to exist than the stupid foam “sword and shield” crap you can put on your controllers to make them, and you, look stupid.
As a “minivan” portable system for the kids, it would be pretty good for VC/Gamecube games too, as well as games such as Super Paper Mario, which are normally played “classically”, and other games that don’t require much movement of the Wiimote other than point-and-click for menus, etc.
For simple Wiimote use, the sensor bar could actually be placed on the floor a few feet below, or one of those wireless sensor bars can be purchased. The Wiimote does need to see the two ends of the sensor bar at a narrow angle, so a shorter sensor bar is possible instead for close-range use. (In fact, the sensor bar can be as simple as two IR LED’s from Radio Shack)
