Many Sony PS3 gamers have been getting their hopes up for a high-definition EyeToy HD IP webcam and while they may not be getting the HD bit, the PlayStation 3 Eye webcam still looks very good.
Sony announced a little while ago this year the first official EyeToy for the PS3, but the reason we are posting about this PlayStation Eye (as they are calling it) is because we have heard so much mystery and we wonder how much is really fact (especially after seeing them cool videos).
If you look at the videos below we found on YouTube, you have to think they are over-hyped as they look kind-of minority report style.
The PlayStation Eye will feature a capture rate as high as 120fps, two zoom levels, EyeCreate editing software, four microphones and is said to deliver unprecedented cam-enhanced gameplay.

The fact that we all wanted a next-gen HD webcam, many gamers might end up being disappointed by the VGA video resolution.
We have not had any price details yet, but Sony PS3 owners can get hold of the PlayStation Eye this summer in Europe and then the rest of the world in fall.
Watch the videos below and then let us know your thoughts.
