Former WWE SmackDown Diva Lauren Jones: Anchorwoman and controversy

SmackDown Diva Lauren Jones
This may sound like a weird question to many, but would you watch a former swimsuit model (and WWE SmackDown) read the evening news? As the new reality TV series Anchorwoman is doing just that.

The TV show is a takeoff on Will Ferrell’s 2004 movie “Anchorman” and Fox believes you will watch former SmackDown Diva Lauren Jones as she tries to make it as an Anchorwoman.

Scheduled to premiere on August 21st on Fox TV, Lauren Jones is in her second week of filming while this I would imagine is just a one month thing and not permanent (as the station contract is for one month).

Critics are outraged that Lauren Jones is reporting the news, but what’s your view?

Lauren Jones is doing a great job at CBS 19 in Tyler, TX as a reporter in the news department. She is a hard working reporter and is just doing something that hundereds of others have done at other television stations across America, learning a job “On The Job”. Back in the 1970s I did the same thing, learning television photojournalism, also with “On The Job” training and I learned a lot from the other photographers that had prior training “On The Job”. I stayed with the ABC station for five years before goig into business for myself fulltime. Anchorwoman on FOX this August will be very popular in my opinion and I hope Lauren will excel in her career to bigger and better entertainment opportunities.

Why are the big phoney supposed news stations and the Washington Post crying. They don’t report the news, they try to make it. Lauren probably was closer to reporting the news than they. Talking about blending entertainment and news, look at any one of the morning shows and you can see more entertainment then news. Make em mad, they are a bunch of phonies.
