In the US Open all players new they had to play their best golf possible, but before many had a chance to-do so they were left in the clubhouse with a look of absolute dread when Cabrera tapped in for his birdie.
Cabrera eliminated 21 extra players from the final two rounds of the US Golf Open, 14 of these players were still in the clubhouse (gutting).
The outright lead was given to Cabrera with an 140 aggregate total, this means the combination of the championship’s 10-shot rule and Cabrera’s tap-in birdie put a number of players 11-over-par 151…not a good day for them.
This is all after two rounds on one of the most unforgiving Open layouts in golf history.
Steve Stricker said “It was hard not to look like a fool out there,” and Cabrera said “I’m sorry for all the guys that are left out.”, but that’s golf and it’s a tough game at that.
