Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite
With so many fans dedicated to their type of games system with the most popular being the Xbox 360, Sony PS3 and the Nintendo Wii. We thought we should compare a basic summery of the new powerhouse Sony Playstation 3 and the latest Xbox 360 upgrade (as it was out a while ago).

Xbox 360 Elite
The upgrade of the popular next-gen video game console has a 120GB hard drive (much bigger than before) and HDMI output which again is missed on the first release of the 360.

The Xbox 360 Elite has an excellent selection of Top-notch games and a couple of but very important improvements over the first model, what I do not like is the Noisy DVD drive and cooling fan on the 360, no built in HD DVD drive, no built-in wireless networking and the massive power supply.

Sony PS3

Sony PS3
This next-generation games console from Sony has great media features particularly an integrated Blu-ray player, quiet operation, no external power supply, online play is free, (UPDATE: media streaming from PCs and remote Internet access via a PSP thanks to firmware update), Wi-Fi and it may be more expensive but taking into account all the extra features it has that you have to buy separate on the Xbox 360 it then works out about the same cost.

What I do not like about the Sony PS3 is the lack of good games at the start of this consoles life, the HDMI cable is not included; no force feedback support in the controller and the Sony PS3 doesn’t upscale DVDs to hi-def resolution (UPDATE: feature was introduced in a recent firmware update).

Both Consoles Summery:
The Sony PlayStation 3 may be the most expensive, but because of its cool design and amount of features this console is perfect for people that want less clutter and more in the package from start.
The PS3 might not have all the greatest selection of games now, but give it another year and things will be very different.

The Xbox 360 Elite is not a must have upgrade for Xbox 360 current owners and its not got as many features as the PS3, but currently the 360 has the top-notch gaming and digital media features to make it the better choice out of the two next-gen consoles…but give the Sony PS3 some time and things could change a lot.

look u guys why do you even bother to argue over whats best out of ps3 and xbox 360 i mean i got a ps3 and hd tv but im not biased toward either consol, i have played on a 360 and the graphics will pretty much be the same for both consols because the game developers just port the game from 1 consol to the next so theres no difference. Also dont you people have other more important issues to be worring about other than ooooooooh ps3 is better or oooooooooh xbox 360 is better, dont you lot have like real lives to live and look forward too. days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, if PS3 does not catch market soon, it will get
less exclusive games for sure. No one knows for sure what
does it mean for the following news, but it hardly to be
    a good news for PS3.

PS3 has more power inside. But it does not always mean
that you will get a batter graphics. Take a look of the
    following comparison.

Dude, it’s Japan. No wonder all games are either RPG or yet another RPG… Whereas, Xbox360 lacks of.

Yah, wait another year. But don’t forget Xbox360 will have more games too.

FORGOT TO MENTION PS3 IS QUALITY BUILT !

By the time you add in the breakdowns of the other one every six months, you will wish you had a solid piece of electronics built by a hardware company. You don’t have to cringe and wonder if this is the day every time you turn a PS3 on.

Wow, for some reason this post has been filled with PS3 fanboys. I for one think this entire next gen is absolute garbage. The main reason for a “games” console is for “games.” Imagine that. The PS3 fanboys posting are all hailing the same three games: MGS, GTHD, and FF. I personally am looking forward to Lair, Tekken, and Killzone 2 as well. However, in addition to the hundreds of games MS already has for the 360, games like Halo 3, Mass Effect, Forza, Two Worlds, Alan Wake, and Project Gotham 4 easily stack up against the few quality PS3 titles coming out. The 360 by the way will have better RPG’s than the PS3 soon: Two Worlds, Dragon Ball Z, Huxley, KOTOR III, Jade Empire 2, Fable 2, Blue Dragon, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and a few more I can’t recall at the moment.

Let’s face it, no one is going to change a fanboys mind, given reasonable and factually based logic they will still hold onto their garbage beliefs. How can you argue the game support for the 360? Doesn’t the fact that many Sony exclusives that are coming to the 360 mean anything (Mercenaries 2, Assassins Creed, Virtua Fighter, Devil May Cry, Guitar Hero, Ace Combat, and maybe even MGS and FF)? No MGS or FF you say? MGS trailers have taken off the PS3 exclusive logo. Square Enix is culturally tied to Japan sure but remember when they said they were loyal to the end for Nintendo and would never leave them for the competitor…that is until the competitor started making more money. Doesn’t the fact that NO MS exclusives are even considering going to the PS3 make you reconsider? If you find yourself arguing with these facts you probably find that people don’t really like you as a person because you are unreasonable (you’re the type that’s always right in other words).

Sure, you might be asking me if I’m a fanboy of MS’s. Like I said before I can’t really with any dignity give any greedy company my money. Sony is just WAY too expensive, especially for the 360 graphics it displays. If you disagree then you need to go play a 360 on a HD display. It was simply built stupidly with a controller that’s going to soon be replaced with vibration feedback, a Blu Ray player that is already outdated and will soon be replaced by online services and/or Super Ray players, the memory restraints ensure the full potential of the PS3’s harware will never be utitilized (that’s right fanboys the graphics are not going to get any better), AND NO GAMES! Just the fact that people are justifying their $600 gaming rig with only 3 games they HOPE are great means the system is hurting pretty badly. The 360 has the best online scheme and game line-up by far but the system is noisy, runs hot, and lasts on average about 6mos before crashing. Sorry but MS customer support is great as long as you have a warranty. Did you ever think that the people complaining on the internet are the ones who are out of warranty? My 360 broke 1mo out of warranty and instead of giving MS additional money to fix their problem, I sold the system and will wait for MS to prove they have a more reliable system. Nintendo is a solid system only because it is running on 10yr old tech, I still am confused as to why it is considered a next gen console. The controller is fun for a while but I can’t help thinking it is just a front for having probably the absolute worst catalog of games of any gaming system in history (running pretty even with the PS3). Additionally, the system can’t play a freakin’ audio disc or as of yet go online! What a complete failure this next generation of gaming has been!

If you have a PS3 or 360 stop complaining, not only do both systems suck but pretty much every game out for each system is multiplatform: Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Army of Two, all sports titles, Frontlines, Unreal Tournament III, Kane & Lynch, Half Life 2, etc. Just shut up and game for cryin’ out loud what the heck are you doing online?!

  7. The Captain says:

Ummm, Famitsu is a Japanese magazine. You don’t see any bias in using that as supporting evidence for your little PS3 charade? Not even a little?

  8. MrPoops says:

Just give the PS3 some time and things will be different? Isn’t that what everyone keeps saying while all the exclusives go Microsofts way? The PS3 has more hardware features out of the box (just don’t count superior graphic quality as one of them if you know anything about components) but we are talking about the future of gaming. Where is the future of gaming going?

    1. The $200 sweet spot with a pack-in game, Nintendo should have everyone convinced by now. If not, you are retarded.

    2. A broad appeal, not just for the hardcore. Again something Nintendo has hit on and Microsoft is trying to tap into with Live Arcade, some family titles, and their online movie/tv service.

    3. Online. Microsoft is doing this is spades with the Marketplace. HD Movies, tv episodes, music videos, Live Arcade, game content downloads, themes, gamerpicts, achievements, gamercards…everything. Sony has a good concept coming with Home but keep in mind as most households don’t have HD TV’s OR broadband internet this won’t be a system seller for a very long time.

    4. Games. I would have to say Microsoft has gotten this aspect down. It only took them two generations in the business to accomplish the feat of gaining a majority of the third party support. Keep in mind this has only been done by Nintendo with the NES (although that was at the end of the huge gaming decline) and by Sony with the Playstation destroying Nintendo. However, it should be concerning that Microsoft has managed to do it AND take a lot of exclusives from the larger than life Sony era of videogames.

So where does this leave Sony? Pretty much nowhere. If MS beats Sony to the punch this holiday season with a price cut, huge releases such as Halo 3 and Mass Effect, I’m sure something new planned to cut into the motion sensored Wii market, AND probably systems bundled with pack in games it doesn’t matter what Sony does because it will be too late. This will probably happen in September for MS. Keep in mind also the Wii will be in better supply this holiday season as well. Sony better make a decision and quick!

  9. Lord Ion says:

Well to each his own i have no problem with any of the consoles i like a few games of the 360 and a few games of ps3 (for some reason the wii seems retarded to me but its just an opinion no dissing the system). Title wise i like the look of several upcoming 360 games however we are all counting them as if they were the next big thing however we cant prove they would be quality games since we have nothing to refer back to since they are the season openers and none beyond blue dragon seem to have been cut out for the sequels which is an advantage of the exclusives left of the ps3 although in the end it might not be a great quality assuerer people are more confident to buy such games.

    about the previous post

    1) I have read that in general more and more wii buyers are having second doubts about the system, that and the announcement of a company to add “wii-killer tech” to next gen consoles might be a blow to nintendo if they cannot release quality titles soon.

    2) Sony online division is not just looking at matching what xbox live offers but they have also plans to go beyond with their specially design arcade games, their new online community service and their plan to tap and dominate episodic and dedicated online gaming. They already dealt a blow to Xbox live that challenged its gaming aspect by allowing 20v20 matches something that live cant acomplish on its current specs without a great deal of detrimental lag.

    3) The same could be said about all microsoft features not being a console seller without brroadband. The thing is broadband is almost a standard and even without hdtv you are able to acess the content such as home in SD. Just af if you play gears of war on SD tv you still get the great experience you just could have something better.

    4) Well nintendo survived last generation basely on its franchises more than any exclusive third party game delivered. Sony on the other hand are trying to emulate nintendos true and tried formula by releasing the best games on the system by its own gaming division and subcompanies something that microsoft barely tapped with bungie.

It leaves Sony as a rising power the extent of this rise will be determined on the succesfull implementation of its online exclusive services and first party gaming concepts and ideas than on the dependance of the third party provider or what the comnpetition is offering.

Now on personal opinion, Halo 3 isnt that much of a threat since this is the title that has been discussed since launch and drove many people to buy the console previously, i dont doubt that every xbox user will have this game but i dont see a sales rise for the console on this release alone like it did for gears of war. Mass effect’s effect is countered by all the other titles that will be offered although i dont doubt the main seller for the season will be Halo 3 which could hurt other xbox games as the general public is still in the 1 to 3 games per quarter. Even if halo3 sucks the previous games will ensure its dominance of that time although i doubt it will prevail as the online game the second provided or the innovative game the first one so i frankly will just play it a friends house and save my money for the online only and exclusive games set to be released at the same quarter by sony, warhawk looks awesome. Then again this is my opinion and dont expect anyone to share it and a lot of people to bash it but oh well the internet still avides by freedom of expresion.

  10. x360 fanboys can suk this comment says:
