With so many fans dedicated to their type of games system with the most popular being the Xbox 360, Sony PS3 and the Nintendo Wii. We thought we should compare a basic summery of the new powerhouse Sony Playstation 3 and the latest Xbox 360 upgrade (as it was out a while ago).
Xbox 360 Elite
The upgrade of the popular next-gen video game console has a 120GB hard drive (much bigger than before) and HDMI output which again is missed on the first release of the 360.
The Xbox 360 Elite has an excellent selection of Top-notch games and a couple of but very important improvements over the first model, what I do not like is the Noisy DVD drive and cooling fan on the 360, no built in HD DVD drive, no built-in wireless networking and the massive power supply.

Sony PS3
This next-generation games console from Sony has great media features particularly an integrated Blu-ray player, quiet operation, no external power supply, online play is free, (UPDATE: media streaming from PCs and remote Internet access via a PSP thanks to firmware update), Wi-Fi and it may be more expensive but taking into account all the extra features it has that you have to buy separate on the Xbox 360 it then works out about the same cost.
What I do not like about the Sony PS3 is the lack of good games at the start of this consoles life, the HDMI cable is not included; no force feedback support in the controller and the Sony PS3 doesn’t upscale DVDs to hi-def resolution (UPDATE: feature was introduced in a recent firmware update).
Both Consoles Summery:
The Sony PlayStation 3 may be the most expensive, but because of its cool design and amount of features this console is perfect for people that want less clutter and more in the package from start.
The PS3 might not have all the greatest selection of games now, but give it another year and things will be very different.
The Xbox 360 Elite is not a must have upgrade for Xbox 360 current owners and its not got as many features as the PS3, but currently the 360 has the top-notch gaming and digital media features to make it the better choice out of the two next-gen consoles…but give the Sony PS3 some time and things could change a lot.

PS3 is of higher quality and is the true next gen system. E3 is coming up guys…get ready for one hell of a storm, Sony Style!
You want tripple AAA titles, you got em!
Hey Tiki, You ask for exclusives the standard of those ps3 games on xbox 360, how about Gears of War, Halo, Forza Motorsprts, and Blue Dragon (reviews of Japanese version are out and they are very good).
The ps3 has lost a lot of exclusives and will soon be forgotten and left to die (is it a Sega Dreamcast 2?, it seems like). There’s no hope left for ps3. Those three ps3 games you mention will come too late to even make a difference.
Love, Peace, and Xbox
The biggest problem with the 360 is nothing to do with the elite and can never be sorted. When a game is designed, it can be created to use a hard drive or not, it is very difficult to make it work the same with and without the hard drive. This means that because there is an 360 model without the harddrive ALL games have to programmed to not expect one. Added to the fact that the amount of data on a DVD is nothing compared to Blu-Ray the future is bright for Sony.
The reviewer picks the PS3, yet we see Sony fans whining because Daniel was truthful about PS3’s lack of games. He says:
“What I do not like about the Sony PS3 is the lack of good games at the start of this consoles life,” and “The PS3 might not have all the greatest selection of games now, but give it another year and things will be very different.”
How can ANYONE argue with that statement? Yet it’s OK to talk about FUTURE “AAA titles the standard of Metal Gear, Final Fantasy and Gran Turismo” before they are actually playable on PS3? This can be a dangerous thing to do after the hypefest for Resistance and Motorstorm fell flat.
Update: Despite many chances to do so, Konami has refused to say MGS will remain exclusive to PS3. Square has been a bit more firm about FF on 360, but they haven’t ruled it out. Why? If PS3 doesn’t raise it’s install base, they both will lose money. It doesn’t really matter to me, because Fable was more fun than any FF turn based nonsense, and Fable 2 IS exclusive.
I don’t consider FF, MGS or GT HD to be titles worth waiting for, but that’s just my opinion. So I’ve been playing GRAW 1 & 2, Crackdown, Saints Row (I know, it’s no good….until it comes to PS3), Fight Night, and finished Oblivion before you got to play it. Then there is Forza 2 (GT HD may never be a full game), F.E.A.R, Rainbow 6 Vegas, FIFA, Alien Hominid HD (and a long list of arcade titles), Burnout Revenge HD….the list goes on and on. To say Xbox 360 doesn’t have the game advantage is just fanboy chatter.
I have a complaint. Why didn’t Daniel point out that PS3 doesn’t come with any HD cables or a headset? I need that more than slow wireless access, and they will cost me close to $100. Why not point out that PS3 free online comes with lots of disconnects and many matchmaking delays? With free online, who will ban modders and keep them from ruining the fun?
There will always be fanboys for both consoles (and increasingly, the Wii, too), including the author, “Daniel.” People often ask me for advice on game consoles. It really comes down to what you plan to do. Honestly, there are great games for both systems. I have played both, and the graphics are truly amazing on the latest titles. Graphics aren’t everything, of course, which is why so many people are still playing games like Counterstrike - great game play makes the game.
If you want a console that plays Blu-ray, go with the PS3. Be careful though, the no-feedback controllers do not allow you to replace the batteries, so when they go bad, be ready to pay $75 for replacements.
If you like online play, like me, go with the 360. Xbox Live is a very well-developed and continually improving service. (By the way, the 360 controllers allow you to use rechargeable AA batteries. For the price of one PS3 controller, you can get a $50 360 controller, several AAs, and a NiMH recharger.)
Anyone who actually gets upset, angry, or frustrated by the whole 360 vs PS3 thing really needs to calm down, take a look in the mirror, and get a hobby or something. Make your choice, and be happy.
Prediction: PS3 will be the biggest mistake ever made by sony. They will have huge losses and there will be no more playstation.
Ron Howard. GT5 will be released next year. GT HD was released as a free download over 6 months ago which is conclusive proof that you really don’t have a clue what you are talking about. The fact that you are comparing Forza to GT just shows how much you have got used to compromise. Forza was a pretty good GT rip off and sold just over 1 million. GT is the best driving series ever made with total sales of over 40 million. In the most recent Famitsu (probably the most respected gaming mag in the world) chart of most eagerly awaited games according to fans 3 of the top 5 were exclusive to the PS3. Konami haven’t ruled out the possibility of releasing a Metal Gear game on the 360 but Hideo Kojima has already explained why MGS4 will not work on it. You mention Fable. 2 Million sales. FF series has sold well over 20 million.
The point I’m trying to make is that there are tens of millions of people who are waiting to play games that are only going to be released on the PS3 whereas most of the people who are waiting for new 360 titles are already 360 owners. The 360 simply does not have anything that compares to Metal Gear, Final Fantasy and GT in terms of sales and popularity.
The idea that the PS3 is failing is simply idiotic. Its selling faster worldwide than the PS1, PS2 and the 360 did at the same point after release and that’s with very few games and at a high price. Imagine how well it’s going to sell when the price drops and the big games start getting released.
Only the most inane of fan-boys would find a way to criticise Sony for providing free online game-play. “who will ban modders and keep them from ruining the fun?” - Sony will. The free online play is on their servers.
The 360 is a great console with some very good games but the PS3 is a better console and will have better games. A lot of 360 owners seem to be in some kind of delusional state of denial with no ability to comprehend that anything could be as good as what they paid their cash for let alone better. Over the next few years it’s gonna be very funny seeing them gradually wake up.

I dont get it…The reasons you guys come up with justifying the Xbox 360 over the PS3 just dont make any sense. Wait one year. After your Xbox breaks for the 5th time, maybe youll come around and get a PS3. It is, after all, the next gen system, with the next gen technology already built in.
=Famitsu’s Most eagerly awaited 2007 games list according to fans:
Daniel said there aren’t many PS3 games RIGHT NOW, and he’s right. Why argue with facts? He also mentioned the future will be better for PS3, so your list of future PS3 games has a purpose…..
=GT5 will be released next year. GT HD was released as a free download over 6 months ago which is conclusive proof that you really don’t have a clue what you are talking about.
Sony calls GT HD “Gran Turismo HD Concept”, so get your facts straight. It shouldn’t be listed as a AAA Ps3 title, RIGHT??? Does the look of Gran Turismo HD Concept guarantee the look of GT5? Will GT5 look just like the Gran Turismo HD Concept demo? Of course not, or GTHD wouldn’t have ‘concept’ in it’s name. ‘Concept’ and ‘target renders’ and ‘actual gameplay’ are tricky words when used by Sony.
=Famitsu’s Most eagerly awaited 2007 games list according to fans:
Proof that the world is bigger than Japan.
=The fact that you are comparing Forza to GT just shows how much you have got used to compromise.
Lol. You can quote 15 year sales totals all you want, but critics rate Forza as the better racing sym. If you want compromises, play a sym with billiard ball physics, bump and pass AI, 1 AI car that has driving abilities beyond learner permit…..wait. Just buy a GT game. I hope GT5 actually becomes a racing sym. My PS3 is dying for a game to play. Until then, I’ll play Forza 2.
Don’t get upset, we are just telling it like it IS, not mixing in how it will be someday.
UnrivaledSHOGUN do you mean die like selling a million PS3’s in the PAL region in 9 1/2 weeks setting a new record? I suggest you do some research first before you look like an imbecile.
