Metal Gear Solid 4 Xbox 360
Initially Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was only being promised for the Playstation 3 but as time has been going on we are now hearing rumors that the Xbox 360 will also get the game.

Metal Gear Solid 4

The photos we have on this page are from the PS3 version and they do look amazing and show just how good Metal Gear Solid 4 graphics will be.

We are also hearing that the Xbox 360 version of the game will feature some exclusive content with Xbox Live making online gameplay an attractive feature.

I am not sure how concrete these rumors are as we are also hearing about a possible Nintendo Wii Metal Gear Solid 4 version.

Does anyone have any further information about the possibility of seeing the game on these other consoles?

Alright, all of you have made some very good points about the software and the actual units being shipped and sold. But what I haven’t seen is anything about the build quality of either system! I am a system builder myself, and I notice things about the pieces of hardware used in each console. I have seen the disassembly of both units, and seen the performance, as well as the technical specs, of both units. The 360 is an awesome machine. I’ll give it that. But I am NOT impressed with the build quality of the 360 at all. Remember that story of the PS3 that killed the 360? That says a lot right there. The ps3 is able to handle massive amounts of heat, while the 360 can’t even handle southern summer air temperatures. I live in Texas, so it gets kind of hot down here. Fact of the matter is that the 360 is built cheap and performs that way too. It actually costs LESS to make a 360 than they are being sold for! In fact, pretty much all of Sony’s products are made to withstand some serious wear and tear. I still have an original playstation console that my mother purchased back in 1994. Guess what, it still works exactly as it should to this day. I purchased a PSP on the release date in April of 2004, and have literally beat the $h17 out of this thing. I have dropped it from 6 feet in the air onto a sloped cement parking garage ramp only to jump down, pick up the battery, put it back in, and turn it back on only to see that it worked just as it did the day I bought it. One more example is my brothers PS2. He bought it on the launch date, and has never even cleaned it. This thing is literally caked with dust, but it still works to this day. The other thing that is pissing me off is these developers saying $h17 like”Oh, it’s too hard to develop games for the PS3. BOOHOO!!!”. OF COURSE IT HARD TO DEVELOP FOR!!!!!! When the PS2 come out they said the exact same thing! The reason that it’s hard to develop for is because there’s NOTHING else LIKE it on the face of the earth! The 360 was like that too. The only reason that you don’t hear this kind of thing about the 360 is because most of the developers on the 360 platform have some kind of affiliation with Microsoft. The 360 uses a series of three processors to do its dirty work, while the PS3 uses a revolutionary 8 core processor that is more powerful than any mainstream processor to date. If you want proof of that, then look at the folding@home project statistics. The other major thing is the GPUs. The 360 does have a more powerful GPU, but that’s because the 360’s GPU is dedicated to processing ALL of the graphics. The RSX GPU is actually primarily used to apply textures. The Cell’s processing power is used throughout the PS3 during it’s operation. Also, the 360 has been out longer, and developers have had a considerably long time to grasp what the 360’s hardware can do, whereas the PS3 hasn’t been out that long. Something else to think about is the price of the consoles. Yes, the PS3 is quite expensive, but then again, so is the 360. Now, you might be saying to yourself”No it isn’t. The 360 is only $300 for the core system, and only $400 for the premium.” But think about this. In order to get the 360 up to the specs that the PS3 is at, you have to buy the premium system($400), the WiFi adapter($100), and the HD-DVD drive($200). Add all of hose together and…OMG! That’s a $700 price tag. That’s actually $100 MORE than what you could get in a single black box instead in 3 white ones! Lastly, Microsoft has a larger base than Sony does. Sony makes it’s money solely on hardware. Microsoft is a domestic market with a large footprint and is into multiple markets. Yes, I am a Sony fan, but not because of any series like Final Fantasy (I hate RPGs), rather, I like sony because I haven’t had a SINGLE issue with their products. All of Sony’s products do exactly what they are supposed to do, and they do everything quite well. I know about too many of Microsoft’s products that don’t do, or can’t handle what Microsoft said they can. Examples could be, oh, I dunno, EVERY SINGLE ONE of their operating systems! But MS does have a good habit of slowly making everything they get their greedy hands on slightly better over time. That’s my argument, and I’m sticking to it.

Xanadu62 I cannot agree with you more. This is just something Xbox people dont see. I’m not even a fanboy of any console but I do prefer the PS3 over any other console. For the person who said that Xbox 360 games ported to PS3 looks crappy should do some research. Lets see you make a game that less capapble of producing the same stuff on PS3. 3 processors VS 1 8 core processor. Programming is completely different. Porting a game to a different console games effects will always be reduced no matter which console its ported from. Did you know that if you make a game for PS3 and port it over to the 360 its much more easier? You make a game on 360 and port it too PS3 its much difficult because all of its hardware is completely different. Sony will prevail. One thing I like about Sony is that they actually push the industry forward. They invested very heavily on HD even though they were behind rivals. Microsoft says we would rather give consumers a choice. Bull Shit. Making manufactuers stop selling Xp to push Vista out the door isnt what I call giving consumers or manufactueres a choice.

Hey all, I waited to get an xbox 360 elite. got it and went home to play, but wait! the circle turned red? oh no.. the “red ring of death” in only 1 hour!!! I returned it, because this is rediculous. M$ should have had this problem fixed by now!!! NO EXCUSE!! so i bought a ps3, and to my amazement, as soon as i took it out of the box, I knew i had made the right descision! when i turned it on i had to put my ear on the machine just to make sure it was running! even while it`s playing a blu ray or game!!! my elite sounded like a jet engine compared to the ps3! the ps3 is comming along nicely, people just expected too much from the ps3 at the start. they just assumed it would be all that the 360 is, but wait, just look at all the games comming–LAIR, HEAVENLY SWORD, DRAKES FORTUNE, ect, ect, the ps3 will dominate–I guess i am a fanboy, but after what i experienced with M$, I`ll take the “name”.

Wow. The article is a joke. Another rendition of “look at the PS3’s specs,” which ithe #1 Rule of Sony: When all else fails, point to the PS3’s specs.

And the moron who made a statement that the Xbox 360 doesn’t want to beused for the folding@home project because the difference in power will be known???? LOL. The PS3 is good for anything but games. I don’t want to buy a PS3 because it can do research, I want to buy a console that plays great games. Sony should just discontinue making the PS3 and wave the white flag, they are taking a serious thrashing. Better to walk away with their dignities in tact.

The PS3 is like a massive builder who can bench 800 lbs, but always gets beat up by skinnier fighters who know how to fight. Then once it gets beat up, it goes back to the gym and flexes its muscles.

Sony is in trouble. It’s going under fast, especially with Halo 3 on the horizon and not to mention the price cut that Microsoft is hinting at, which can bring the price down of the 360 to $199! Bye bye Sony and all you morons who have been kicking yourselves in the butt since you wasted your $600 on that paperweight.

This article is really funny. Video games are fun on both systems, buy them both! they both have awesome exclusives! they both have awesome graphics! Wait for a review of the game on both systems, buy the one you think looks better. 360’s games look better, I buy 360 games. PS3 Looks better, I buy that game. Either way I am going to play games on both systems and have a good time. Once you get over this whole rivalry thing and realize oh shit its about the games, you’ll just be better off. And yes right now 360 has the games, its been out longer. 360 isn’t going anywhere, and neither is PS3. Both will have its hits and both will sell. Game publishers know this, this is why we are seeing multi-platform titles.

  6. Shimmy says:

Not meaning to sound like a fanboy but what happens to the ps3 if LAIR, HEAVENLY SWORD, DRAKES FORTUNE, um……suck. Honestly, it’s evident that every ps3 supporter puts there hopes on these games that we know very little about.
Again I would buy a ps3 if I could find a reason too. (Believe me I’m trying, I’ve enjoyed my ps1-2 in the past). There is nothing on that system that has proven its power to being greater then the 360, and until it does I believe a lot of us who are out there who are wanting to make a smart secure purchase are going to just sit a wait for Sony to convince us of what this “power house” can do. Until then, the 360’s pro are going to out weigh the ps3.
And just to echo what I said before (My predications): if the 3rd party devs can’t find away to make there games better or at least comparable to the 360, I can see the ps3 going under and Sony making fast plans for the ps4.
Blu Ray has been tempting, although I don’t want to buy a player that im not even sure is going to win the format war, and please dont give me numbers of how blu ray is wining. It’s not over till its over.

I think all you know about is Halo 3 for Xbox Shimmy. You probably think its going to be great because of the name Halo right? Sequels suck. The Halo 2 sotry line sucked. Only fun part was multiplayer. We PS3 supporters put our hopes on games we know very little about just like you Xbox people put your support on a game that hasnt been released yet. You Fanboys of Xbox have been seriously brainwashed. Your like this. Look at what’s today. Dont worry about tomorrow. You see the PS3 sales slacking. Duh. Price tag? What happens when a price cut happens? Usually analyst are right. So I cant wait for a price cut. Sucks on you guys when it happens. Also MGS4 has alot riding on PS3. Look at any other gaming site. Xbox people will say they will buy a PS3 as soon as that game comes out. Talk about an increase in sales. Lets not forget Killzone 2. Now those are games we know stuff about. Add Ratchet and Clank and that is sure to bring in some competition to Nintendo. That game is for kids. There you go. Enough said.
    Chris.

“The PS3 is good for anything but games. I don’t want to buy a PS3 because it can do research, I want to buy a console that plays great games.”

LoL! I’m sorry but that is so true right now.

Chris, don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind seeing Sony succeed. I will gladly buy one if they can fulfill its primary purpose which is to make quality games (that is its primary purpose right?)
As for the whole thing about you disliking Halo, that’s fine, but I hate to break it to you but the games sells like the dickens… And good games sell systems….and systems that sell hang around.
Here’s a little something for you all to ponder. (I’m open to the idea that I could be wrong on this). In a perfect world you would think that people could enjoy the best of both worlds by owning both systems, or even all three. that way everyone would be happy right? Wrong.
My theory: Right now we have three systems that have companies behind them who would love to bring in $$$(And yes Sony lovers, just like Microsoft they are in it for the money…sorry). The problem that is here is the fact that only “Hard Core Gamers” are the ones who are going to buy all three systems.( Certainly few will have a 360 and ps3 right now like Mike; Congratulations).
I believe the common scenario we’re seeing and will see in homes is: Billy who has an Xbox and a wii. Or Mary who has a ps3 and wii. Nintendo being smart created a system that would appeal to the hardcore, casual, and non-gamers for a reasonable price, which explains why it’s #1 right now.
In a nut shell because I’m sick of typing, I believe the system that is in the third spot is really going to hurt, which happens to be Sony right now. Why because Sony’s ps3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 are similar in that they are both built for the hardcore gamers. They are both $ systems. So why own both? You may have you reasons but most of us can’t justify the purchase.

  9. Shimmy says:

Chris, your kidding me right? I can tell you what IS OUT that is sustaining the system if you want?
