Initially Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was only being promised for the Playstation 3 but as time has been going on we are now hearing rumors that the Xbox 360 will also get the game.

The photos we have on this page are from the PS3 version and they do look amazing and show just how good Metal Gear Solid 4 graphics will be.
We are also hearing that the Xbox 360 version of the game will feature some exclusive content with Xbox Live making online gameplay an attractive feature.
I am not sure how concrete these rumors are as we are also hearing about a possible Nintendo Wii Metal Gear Solid 4 version.

Does anyone have any further information about the possibility of seeing the game on these other consoles?

kspraydad I would like to see where you get your facts form. Show me where Microsoft sold under 10 million and show me why you can’t use the External hard drive for game. You got a lot of talk lets see the proff. Because I can play the Halo 3 Beta and guess what, that is a download on my hard drive, also the Crackdown add on where thay added and whole new game play, a racing mode, new weapons, new cars all on the Hard Drive. Marvel ultimate alliance added new characters playable on the hard drive or you can buy a gold version where every thing is on the disk. kspraydad shut up and get real facts.
kspraydad - He said it was the external Hi-Def drive you can’t use for games not the hard drive. Microsoft have shipped 10.4 million they have not sold 10.4 million. You have forgotten that all of the 360’s that are on the shelves in shops are part of the 10.4 million shipped total. They have sold 4.5 million in the US, 330,000 in Japan and 160,000 in Australia. Microsoft have never released the European sales numbers (I wonder why?) but there is no way it’s more than the US total. Lets say there are 4 million sold in Europe. That makes the total worldwide sales about 9 million with the other 1.4 million consoles sitting in shops.
@Charles…Jon summed it up nicely by giving you the ‘proff’ you need.
My response “And the Xbox can’t use the external drives for games”
Was in response to Tony asking “What about using the Xbox 360 External HD-DVD drive”
As for Microsoft world wide sales you can look up NPD results or VGCharts which adjusts their predictions with NPD data and others and has a reputation for OVERSTATING sales numbers:
VG shows worldwide X sales at 9.82 million right now.

This is now 5 months AFTER MS said they shipped 10.4 million Xbox 360s by Dec 2006. You’ll note that MS recently dropped their total SHIPPED estimate for June 2007 from 15 million to 12 million. http://www.roughlydrafted.com/RD/RDM.Tech.Q1.07/8709A21F-1899-4AA2-8283-CAF3F4B353FF.html
Here is a nice quote: “Microsoft had announced the 15 million goal in November 2006 to distract attention away from the other consoles that were just being released. It met its earlier goal of 10 million by the end of 2006 by stuffing the channel with unsold inventory.
That move didn’t help to actually sell units; Microsoft’s SEC filings report that at the beginning of October, the company had only sold 5 million 360s.
That means that half of the world’s 360s were sitting in retail shelves this holiday season, and a significant amount still are. That has pressed Microsoft to dramatically slow new shipments until the channel clears out excess inventory.”
Now…instead of telling me to ’shut up’ why not a: read the whole thread so you could see that I was responding to a specific statement b: learn how to do some research yourself, it is educational and fun c: stop being so rude.
Have an awesome gaming day.
Here is a statement from MS SEC filings as of Mar 31 2007:
“EDD revenue decreased during the three months ended March 31, 2007 primarily because of decreased Xbox 360 console sales. During the quarter, we shipped 0.5 million Xbox 360 consoles as compared to 1.7 million consoles in the third quarter of fiscal year 2006, which was the first full quarter of Xbox 360 console sales. Xbox and PC game revenue decreased $393 million or 44% during the three months ended March 31, 2007 due to the decrease in console sales. Revenue from Zune, consumer hardware and software, and TV platforms increased $103 million or 61% during the three months ended March 31, 2007, primarily reflecting the recent release of Zune and new consumer hardware products. Mobile and Embedded Devices revenue increased $38 million or 30% during the three months ended March 31, 2007 driven by sales growth in Windows Mobile software and Windows Embedded operating systems.
EDD revenue increased during the nine months ended March 31, 2007 primarily due to increased Xbox 360 console sales, sales of Zune, and increased Xbox accessories and video game sales. We shipped approximately 5.9 million Xbox 360 consoles during the first nine months of fiscal year 2007. Since the Xbox 360 console was launched in November 2005, we have shipped approximately 11 million units”

Learning is fun
I don’t think you understand the difference between shipping and selling. They are not the same thing. Nobody is disputing they have shipped over 10 million. The fact is that not all of them have been sold. If you ship 100 apples to a shop you haven’t sold 100 apples until the shop sells them on to customers.
Alright I’ll shut up. But really I don’t even know why I’m waisting my time here any way. I’ll go back to Playing Gears of War which is the main reason why I don’t know my shit because Sony fan Boy got nothing to do but surf the net because YOU GOT NO GAMES!!! go watch a Blue Ray Movie or something. Check out Planet earth it’s pretty good. But really get a 360, and get online because it fun over here. Peace!!
Actually I would consider a fanboy to be someone that goes to sites and makes blatantly incorrect statements and when they are caught out start calling others fanboys.
The reason ‘you don’t know my shit’ isn’t because of the amount of time playing Xbox but because you fail to invest the amount of time necessary to carry on a lucid conversation based in reality.
Have an awesome gaming day.
kspraydad I incorrectly addressed an earlier post to you when I should have said Charles. I think you realised that but I apologise unreservedly in any case lol
If I was a fan boy you would find me making a lot of comments online. Not just here but everywhere else. This is the first time in a long time that I have even ventured to make comments, in a long time. I’m talking months. The reason for that is because this XBOX fanboy doesn’t spend time talking about it I’m doing it. I use to be all about the news and up to date on the issues. But then after a while you notice it’s the same stupid agrument. So sorry for making uninformed comments. Meet me in Gears of War dude we can battel with a Shottie instead of words. C DAWK is my gamer tag.
Oh and I played Resistance. In case I’m wrong again. I believe that Resistance is PS3 answer to Gears of war, so i’v been told. Well I played that and all I got to say is try again. What a sad game to compare to Gears. I compare it more to Call of Duty 3, only with monsters, which also knocks it out of the water as well. And why is the trigger which I must applaude Sony for, not used as the trigger for the gun. Even Guns use triggers. What a stupid default to have the trigger for the gun assinged to the Button above it. And most car games don’t even use the trigger for gas. And why do the players in NBA Live need their jerseys ironed. I need to compare that jersey issue to the XBOX version. The botton line is i’ve tried the PS3 and I’m just not impressed. And it also kept dropping off line all the time. The best part is the blu-ray. But guess what Sony launched a stand alond Blu-ray player which is cheeper then the PS3. What is going to sell the PS3 now?
