Initially Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was only being promised for the Playstation 3 but as time has been going on we are now hearing rumors that the Xbox 360 will also get the game.

The photos we have on this page are from the PS3 version and they do look amazing and show just how good Metal Gear Solid 4 graphics will be.
We are also hearing that the Xbox 360 version of the game will feature some exclusive content with Xbox Live making online gameplay an attractive feature.
I am not sure how concrete these rumors are as we are also hearing about a possible Nintendo Wii Metal Gear Solid 4 version.

Does anyone have any further information about the possibility of seeing the game on these other consoles?

konami refuse to either confirm or deny this rumour tho, programing for the 360 and wii is a lot easier than the ps3, consider that the ps3 is selling only half as many as the wii atm, would u release a game soley for the console thats loosing, also FFXIII and Devil May Cry 4 and GTA 4 are all likely to come out on 360
Mike, they look worse because they are ports from the 360 version. Your comments about using ‘double Cd’s’ just prove what an idiot you are. I assume you meant double DVDs but even then it won’t work because it isn’t just a size issue. You need the drive to read HD content and a DVD drive can’t. If you really work in a game shop (which I doubt very much) I suggest you learn a bit more about the products.
I think the mere fact that the Kojima won’t comment is because it might be true. Wether it comes or not really doesn’t matter because there is so much coming out for the 360. It would just be an added bonus. And I really don’t care what you PS3 Boy gotta say because the bottom line is if your console doesn’t sell 5 Million by the end of the year kiss goodbey to your exclusives. I really don’t know who is in the business to loose money. The mere fact the the Wii is spanking you in sales and the 11+ Million XBOX 360 with amazing online play and the abillity to maybe add more to the game through downloads spells $$$Ching Ching$$$ is a good indicater that it just might be true.
Charles:
The X360 has sold under 10 million so far and that includes MS channel stuffing. They have SHIPPED 10million +, just like Sony has SHIPPED 5.5 million and sold 3.3 or so. Get your facts straight. Sony is SHIPPING another 10 million by March 2008, I doubt they would do that if they were only going to sell 1.7 (thus your 5 million ass hat number) more.
You might want to notice that the Wii is kicking X360 ass just as much as PS3’s.
“inferior??hahahaha every single game released multiplatform for the 360 and ps3 has looked crap compared to the 360 versions, do your research ,i work at gamestop and have showed hundreds of people the same thing on our display systems…inferior…hahahaha p.s, dvds cost pennies to manufacturers and making a double cd game is not a problem at all..”
Congrats, you are the dumbest person ever to write on this subject. And it makes perfect sense that you work at Gamestop.
I’d take the time to explain to you what a port is, but your small brain wouldn’t be able to handle it. And “every single game” ehh??? Did you try Oblivion out you your “display systems”… lol
And a double disc game is not a problem at all?? It is for people who just want to sit down and play a game and not manually switch discs back and forth ever 20 minutes.
Yeah INFERIOR.
Optical disc drive, DVD is INFERIOR to Blu-Ray
Standard HDD on all machines is INFERIOR to having to buy a MS only HDD.
Those two things alone leave developers having to limit themselves when building “next-gen” games for the 360.
TO the guy above ^, Oblivion was rushed out for a 360 release, and the ps3 version was given much more time. Also keep in mind, even WHEN ignoring memory bandwidth limitations the PS3 has, the 360 gpu is still more powerful. I’ll agree the ps3’s oblivion is better, but I can’t say that about some future stuff.
Oblivion should look better on the ps3. Come on, they had an extra chunk of time to work on the game. It’s funny how that is the only game that Sony fans mention in terms of looking better on the ps3…
BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY GAME.
I’m not a fanboy, in fact I have been close many times to selling my 360 for a ps3 because I’m married and don’t play games all that much, and I thought that the ps3 would be perfect because I can get blu ray and play the same sports games that I love (maybe some fps like graw2).
But from what I’ve read and seen it seems that every third party game that has gone from the Xbox to the ps3 has suffered in frame rate and graphics. And yes, I know it’s because it’s going over from the 360 but the fact remains the same that 3rd party games are currently better on the 360. It’s great that Sony is making some great exclusives games but they need third party support to come on top…
Unless I can see ps3 power house become a powerhouse I personally can justify the purchase.
For me it all depends on the next round of madden, nba 2k, Tom Clancy etc ported over to the ps3 to make my choice.
As has been mentioned before the problem with a lot of PS3 games at the moment is that they are ports from the 360. I believe that will change though. I read an article a while ago in which a developer explained that it’s a lot easier (and therefore cheaper) to port a game from the PS3 to the 360 than the other way round so within a few years I would expect all multiplatform games will be developed that way.
Adam - The issue of memory bandwidth problems is nonsense. The guy who started that story completely ignored the CPU in his discussion as do people who compare the two systems GPU’s. The PS3 uses the CPU as well as the GPU for graphics. There is no proven problem with the PS3’s memory allocation but even if there were the vastly more powerful CPU would make up for it. For example a 2ghz Pentium PC with 400mb of memory will be slower than a 4ghz one with 300mb.
Microsoft will never allow the 360 to be used for folding because if they did the difference in power between the machines would be there in black and white for everyone to see.
Hahah I love how imaballa uses big words like feasible, un-substantiated, and un-reditable to attempt to sound smart. Got to love the English language.
Good point jon. ^^^^
