May 29, 2007 | Filed under Information Technology News

Yahoo has made a move this week that the company hopes will win back users who have gone to the very popular Google Maps and Microsoft Maps that we see often on TV news channels when they are showing locations.
Yahoo Maps has a lot of work to-do to catch up and some people think it’s too little too late,
One thing is for sure and that is the new Yahoo Maps is a greatly improved version with the enhancements being made available for San Francisco and New York first, then other cities will get improved from now on.
Yahoo Maps Enhancements Include:
- Inclusion of street-level building footprints
- New color-coded street maps that let users identify neighborhoods
- Option to plot European driving directions from the U.S. and Canadian version of the site
- Better performance from in-house platform
Yahoo Maps does lack some of the basic features Google and Microsoft offer like personalized data and 3-D overlays, but how does Yahoo Stack up to its competitors and who is the best Maps Brand?
