Toshiba 80GB Gigabeat V801: Available June 1st in Japan

This is the latest in Toshiba’s V Series of Gigabeat portable media players, the Toshiba 80GB Gigabeat V801 as the name suggests packs an 80GB hard drive for $491.
You could of course pay a little less for the 40GB V401 which is priced at $409, each of these Toshiba PMP’s feature a cool built-in brightness sensor that will automatically adjust the display to best fit the local lighting conditions.
Other Gigabeat Features Include:
- Battery capable of 28/10/8 hours of playback audio/video/1Seg TV
- 24-mm thickness
- Improved sound quality
- 1Seg Tuner and EPG for Digital TV viewing / recording
- Supports WM DRM10 and WMA 9 Lossless
- New 4-inch 480 x 272 pixel display with 24-bit color
- The Toshiba Gigabeat V801 and V401 will start shipping on the 1st of June in Japan
