Confirmed on Nintendo Wii: Geometry Wars Galaxies

For a few weeks now rumors have been going around that Sierra Entertainment will be bringing Geometry Wars: Galaxies to the Nintendo Wii and this has now been confirmed (its also going to be on the Nintendo DS handheld).

Galaxy Wars: Retro Evolved has been very popular on the 360’s Xbox Live and now it’s the Nintendo Wii’s turn to share in the fun, but in a more interactive way as the Wii always does.

If you love old-school arcade fun then you’re going to love the next-gen version on the Wii that will feature some cool gameplay and action.

Sierra Entertainment are very happy to bring the Geometry Wars brand to the Nintendo platform and as they should be with the Nintendo Wii outselling all other games consoles, it’s a big market and Sierra see the extra cash that can be made from the Wii and DS.

The Nintendo Wii version of Geometry Wars: Galaxies still has the much loved top down 2D shooter aspect to it, but you also now get to use the unique motion sensing Wii remote and nunchuck…which makes everything so much more fun.

You will get to play a multiplayer co-op / versus mode and also a mission-based mode, the fun gets much better if you own both the Nintendo Wii and DS as you can connect the two over Wi-Fi and unlock bonus content.

The bottom line is that Geometry Wars: Galaxies is still the same old fun that it always has been but the Wii puts a spin on the video game with its different control system.
