WiFi freeloader
I have heard of many people being WiFi freeloaders before (using other peoples WiFi makes you a WiFi freeloader), but it’s a first to hear someone getting arrested for it.

Sam Patterson II of Sparta, MI could be in real deep trouble for checking email everyday at a Cafe’s WiFi access point without buying a coffee.

Sam did this everyday and parked in the same spot which in-turn got him noticed by the local police, which they have now arrested Sam for breaking the state anti-hacking law and arrested him.

Amazing how it is hacking when the Wi-Fi is there to use for free, even a child could do it…what kind of world is this.

Opinions aside, Sam is in real trouble as the law says he should get up to 5 years in jail and a $10,000 fine for not buying coffee.

I cannot see someone can get 5 years for not buying a coffee, just shows how stupid our laws are.

It would be interesting to find out what the Wi-Fi Alliance thinks about this. Their PR representation can be contacted at 650-429-2772.
