Meizu MiniOne M8: look fast and you think iPhone
By: John | May 23, 2007
If your not a technology minded person then at first look the Meizu MiniOne may make you think your looking at an iPhone, but its nowhere near it as its powered by Windows CE 6 and runs on an ARM11 533MHz Samsung processor.
The Meizu MiniOne does look similar which is something I cannot help but feel was done on purpose to raise sales of the MiniOne.
The TFT touchscreen is pretty cool with a 720×480 resolution and 16 million colors, which is very impressive to say the least.
The Meizu MiniOne also packs 128MB of SDRAM, capacities of 4GB up to 16GB, numerous audio and video file formats, GPS navigation, integrated DMB tuner for TV on-the-go, WiFi, Bluetooth and a couple of cameras for photos and video calls.
The feature list is amazing and this phone will retail at a low price of $260 to $450 (very cheap for amount of features).
The Meizu MiniOne may not be an iPhone but it will compete with the like of the Nokia N95.

I think if this were compared directly with the I-phone it’s a no brainer. The meize minione will kill the iphone. Not only in specs but in price. It is well below the 2 year contract + another $600 dollars. I am not that rich. But $400 is without a 2 year contract now that is what I am talking about. The only think the I-phone has on this is it’s touch screen which I admit is pretty cool, and it’s apple hookups which are also very nice. This on the other hand is a smart phone where as the i-phone isn’t. It has windows mobile 6 so you can install a boat load of software, apple nope. It has video out, how cool is that. The screen is nearly twice as big. The 16 gb version is almost half the cost for almost twice the space. It looks similar but as far as I know you can’t pattent the shape and general style of a phone. But I could be wrong. Anyway’s I think the meizu minione would be a hands down winner if they can get it out before the end of 2007. Other wise I think apple will stomp them. With an announcement of a phase 2 i-phone in 2008 if the meizu minione is not out by then it’s the grave yard for it.
