It’s been 4 years since Sony introduced to the world their first PMP (portable media player), now they are having another go in 2007 with the Sony PMP PMX-M70.
The portable video player is a million times better than the 4 year old model, but then that’s obvious as technology has moved on in leaps since then.
The Sony PMX-M70 has some nice features including battery life lasting 5 hours for videos and 20 hours for music, a clock and calendar, photo viewer, voice recorder, audio encoding, direct video encoding, TV-out, FM tuner, built-in speakers for more than just you listening, Plays MP3 & WMA music files and MP4 & AVI video.
You will have a choice of storage sizes for the Sony PMP including an 8GB, 4GB and 2GB flash memory versions. The screen is not a bad size at 4.3 inches, but the problem with current technology is if the screen is to big it is less portable (e-paper will solve this)
The Sony PMX-M70 is pretty thin at just 12.7mm (overall sizes are 16.7×74.4×12.7mm) and weighing in at 129g.
The new Sony PMP is only in the Chinese market currently and Sony has been promoting the device with the Spiderman 3 movie.
If the PMX-M70 gets to the UK (Europe) and United States, with a good price and the Sony brand it could become very popular.
