First up let’s point out that the Creative Zen Stone lives in a world of iPod domination and as such who would blame Creative for taking design ideas from the Apple MP3 player giant.

I like the support for audible files and being able to easily skip through groups of tracks thanks to the Skip Folder function, but I do not like the idea of having no built-in clip and no screen…a display is simple but makes a lot of different.

If you’re a first time buyer then the Creative Zen Stone is perfect for you or if you’re on a budget you will love its bargain basement price tag of around $39.99 (£20).

The lack of features will not please many people looking for a cheap MP3 player, but then at such a low price you should not expect many extras.
