Anyone who has bladder problems will know just how much the condition affects other people and their lives, but one gadget aims to make bladder control manageable.
The AssureFlow concept device is a finalist at the Design Awards and its aim is to put people in control of their bladder with a kind of on-off switch.
What the AssureFlow does is act as a manual switch with an on-off tap for the bladder, which if this gadget ever reaches production it could help thousands of people with weak bladders.
As I do not like hospitals this bit does not sound nice to me, but what happens is an internal valve will be implanted in the patient’s urethra and they then have a handheld actuator that utilizes inductive heat to operate the valve.
The concept is a long way of yet of making it to the real world, but the real crime is many devices like this will never make it into production.
