Searchology Press Event: Google Universal Search

Marissa Mayer has announced at Google’s Searchology press event a feature that will affect millions and it’s called “Universal Search”.
With Google having so many products that help most of us on a daily basis and many of these products being search related, it was then only a mater of time before Google started blending these services together more to help us users.
The result will be Google’s Universal Search which will display results from various sources of search on one page; this will include information from the Web, pictures, videos and books.
It just makes sense for Google to display all these sources on one page that are related to what we search for and then we can pick which kind of information best fits what we are looking for rather than digging deep into search results and finding many unrelated results.
What is very cool is the way videos from YouTube and Google will play a part in the Google results.
It will be like making one search which performs many other searches in Google’s different sources and then giving you all the different options on the same page.
The new feature will be coming right away and you will start to see not only web results but also Videos, News, Images, Local Search and Books into the new Universal Search.
