With many sites taking the option of flash video for its high quality and small file size it seems that there is also a growing number of PMP that are also joining the flash video player market.
The iRiver X20 is just that and a lot more, It’s a great travel companion thanks to being very light and compact, but on the bad side the 2.2in screen to me is a little to small for best viewing experience and make this video player great for trailers and music clips but not full movies.
The good points are that the iRiver X20 can record thanks to the internal mic or via the line-in port, and the expansion is good for adding more space which includes a MicroSD card slot.
The iRiver X20 has good codec support covering OGG, WAV, WMA and MP3 but I was disappointed that AAC was not supported.
You may find the navigation a bit tricky to get the hang of, but with practice this can be improved.
iRiver X20 Features Include:
- Weight: 70g
- Dimensions: 96×49x10mm
- Battery: 22 hours audio, 6 hours video
- Video formats: MPEG4 SP, WMV SP
- Audio formats: MP3, WMA (unprotected), WAV, OGG
- Capacity: 2GB
The bottom line is price and at around £79, this is a great deal for the features
