Halo 3 is big gaming news and the results of the first 24 hours of the Halo 3 beta test and demo on the Xbox 360 show you just that.
Within the first 24 hours over 610,000 games had been played on Halo 3’s different maps, which is great news for Microsoft as they are looking to boost its holiday sales of the Xbox 360 games and the console itself.
Halo 3 is one game that can sell more consoles fast and help Microsoft a little in the battle of best next-gen gaming console.
The bad news for Microsoft is that around one million gamers could not join the widely publicized beta test of Halo 3 as the download key in the Xbox 360 game Crackdown was not working (I was one of the million plus people with this problem).
Bungie Studios (the game’s developer) took only a few hours to fix the problem and by 7:00 p.m. that evening many purchasers of Crackdown (including me) were able to log in and download the nice 900-MB setup file…well worth the wait.
If you have not yet had fun with the free Halo 3 beta test then you should do so by the 10th of June as at midnight on that day all ends.
While many gamers will debate about how good the graphics are on this Xbox Live game, the real excitement for many is the fact that the release date for Halo 3 the full game is on September 25th in the U.S. and September 26th in Europe.
Now go and enjoy the beta till June 10th as you will then have to wait over 3 months for the full game.
