Hackers Overwhelm Computers that help manage global computer traffic

The most significant attacks against the Internet since 2002 happened today without many people even noticing as computer scientists worldwide raced to cope with enormous volumes of data that threatened to saturate some of the Internet’s most vital pipelines.
Out of the 13 computers that help manage global computer traffic at least 3 were overwhelmed.
The hackers disguised their origin and it could be traced as fair as somewhere in South Korea (because of vast amounts of rogue data there).

    Wow! I was slow connecting numerous times on the web today. Maybe it was related. South Korea. I wonder what their motive was.

    It sounds pretty bad. Like we got through it OK, but they knocked out about a quarter of the carrying capacity of the Internet. Sounds like next time, whoever they are, they might shut it down. Sounds like a government might be behind it. Awfully poewrful.
