Many people are worried about upgrading to Windows Vista for the fact that on previous versions of windows there has been many bugs, so many people may wait a few months first but then others will just want to get it because its new.
Well to add to that fear:
If you choose to purchase an upgrade version of Windows Vista to upgrade Windows XP, you will no longer be able to use that version of Windows XP.
Not as a dual-boot option or on another system, because the key will be invalidated, preventing you from activating it.
