It had to Happen, Skype has been cracked?
By: Daniel Chubb | July 17, 2006
We were just looking through one of our favourite gadget sites (Engadget) and we saw some new that Skype has been cracked…wow but it had to happen.
What they have said is that a gentleman named Charlie Paglee (This person cofounded Vozin Communications, the VoIP start-up), got a call on Skype from a colleague in China who was using an unofficial homemade version of Skype.
The rumour is that this friend and a team he is part have reverse-engineered the Skype protocol, this is big news in VOIP as it opens up options for people to create third-party clients (Not good for eBay who brought Skype for a lot of money).
It does amaze be how people can get away with this type of thing, but I do not think it will be a big deal for Skype as they have become a trusted brand…What do you think?
